Commercial Door Technician
About this Role
Commercial Door is seeking an EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL DOOR TECHNICIAN with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate must be proficient in working with ALL types of commercial doors, including overhead doors, walk-through doors, automatic doors, door hardware, loading docks, and gates.
Additional information:
- Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
- Schedule: 8 hour shift with overtime

Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial door technician role
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in door hanging (3 years required)
- Skills in hand tools, heavy lifting, door hanging, and power tools
- Premium skills in glass installation and welding
- Relevant skills in blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, fabrication, construction, carpentry, trim carpentry, schematics, and fixture installation
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial doors using hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques
- Hang doors and ensure proper functionality, including addressing any mechanical issues
- Utilize glass installation and welding skills for specialized projects
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately complete door installations and repairs
- Demonstrate expertise in fabrication, construction, and carpentry techniques
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate and execute trim carpentry and fixture installations
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve door-related issues efficiently
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Travel to various job sites as needed
